Special Units
This unit is supervised by a Captain and is comprised of 13 full time Deputy Sheriff's and 4 partime Deputy Sheriff's. The security and operation of the Circuit, General District, and Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts is provided by the Courts Services section. Responsibilities of the Court Services section also include: Serving all civil processes; including DMV notices; bills of complaints; detainee actions; levies and other notices; and the transportation of prisoners to and from courts, jails and surrounding jurisdictions. Extradition transports from jurisdictions outside the State of Virginia are also included in the transportation duties.
